Best weekend ever: me, my daughter Tess and my wife Lauren all headed out to Diamond Park, out to the amazing paved bike trail they have there. We had a great time. Really, really great. We biked all day long, each with our own bikes!

Jeez, how about this guy? He’s headin’ for a brusin’ — or crusin’ for a hurtin’. If only we could save him from his fate, with like a really neat futuristic device that could change the way gravity works, like really just make sure he didn’t clobber his face and more importantly wreck that sweet bike, simply by using a device that could stop gravity in it’s tracks and by extension stop this guy and his bike in their tracks so he didn’t wreck that cool bike and break face, which he’s about to do. Man, too bad it’s only 2010 (almost 2011, ha-ha) and no one has invented that futuristic thing yet, and when they do, they should invent a futuristic time machine so they can go back in time and stop this guy from eating it. I am not exactly sure what to make of this bike. How do you ride it? What do you do when you’re riding it except pray that you don’t fall? And maybe die? Why is this invention please? The AP is filing story after story about lone bike riders, out on lonely forest paths, who unexpected run into this loner, this cryptozoological behemoth, and are scared senseless. Oh my GOD! The New World Order is trying to take away our bike racks AGAIN!! You should read THIS ARTICLE from The Denver Post as fast as possible!! Republican gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes is warning voters that Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper’s policies, particularly his efforts to boost bike riding, are “converting Denver into a United Nations community.” “This is all very well-disguised, but it will be exposed,” Maes told about 50 supporters who showed up at a campaign rally last week in Centennial. Maes said in a later interview that he once thought the mayor’s efforts to promote cycling and other environmental initiatives were harmless and well-meaning. Now he realizes “that’s exactly the attitude they want you to have.” “This is bigger than it looks like on the surface, and it could threaten our personal freedoms,” Maes said. He added: “These aren’t just warm, fuzzy ideas from the mayor. These are very specific strategies that are dictated to us by this United Nations program that mayors have signed on to.” My GOD — this isn’t a ha-ha moment, this is very real. The UN is going to quite possibly strip away all our human rights, and do it after tempting us bike enthusiasts with the promise of more bike racks and paths!! Anyway, until people figure out that we can have bike racks without UN control, and until people start to think for themselves and we fight the UN, we still have plenty of great racks right here and now!

I guess the sight of a guy riding a bike out on the sand was crazy, and all the beach people were all like “WHAT?!” and he was all “look at my big tires!” and then he drove past the sand, into the ocean, and he was all “I can drive my bicycle over water itself!” and everyone was shock and the coast guards though he was a terrorist and shot him dead. That’s the sad reason that you won’t be buying his invention anytime soon: it’s Exhibit C in a pending wrongful death trial. It’s safe to say, his invention died with him. Boy, I wish I brought a jacket with me. And money. And maybe I didn’t get mad at my wife and burn my house down. Oh well. I’m writing this while sitting inside a freezing cold freeway underpass, and it’s raining really hard. It kind of is terrible being out here like this. Oh well. You know, when I’m usually faced with a really bad situation, or trouble, or things that make me feel bad, I usually go for a bike ride. Wow. I would say ha-ha, but I don’t feel very ha-ha. Dark. And cold. Maybe I will die out here, alone, with nothing but my bike and my laptop. It’s starting to get very dark, and I’m staring to get scared. The lights from the cars on the freeway lets me know that I’m not alone in the world, but it’s also sad. All those people are going somewhere. Somewhere warm. Somewhere with loved ones. Or, at the very least, they could sleep in their warm cars. Cars that keep out the rain and the wind and the small animals and the fear.
