Head First into a New Bike Rack Purchase!

Everyone is telling me that the world is getting kinda tense these days, and that maybe it’s all going to end soon. I hadn’t really noticed, because I like to keep my mind positive and upbeat, but I have some good advice for everyone if they’re feeling tense: go out and ride a bike. It sounds crazy, but it really helps with stress and tension and bad thoughts. Simply put, you just outrun your trouble! The faster you pedal, the less you have any bad feelings! I bike ride at least four times a day, and I tell you, I’ve never been happier! The one tension I allow in my life, the ONLY tension, is a tension I recommend to you:

The Bike Tension Storage Rack from StacksandStacks.com is a dream come true, and a great way to store your bikes! I enjoy Stack’s entire selection of Bike Racks, but this model is a real treat. It works in the same principle as those neat bathroom shower tension rods, except it holds bikes! It adjusts between 7′6″ to 9′6″, so you’re covered, wherever you need it. The Bike Tension Storage Rack’s easy-adjust arms will hold up to 4 bikes. But trust me, 4 bikes is a job for the Tension rack. If YOU feel tension, all you need is one bike. Take a deep breath, and bicycle your way to happiness. Its power source is you. Which is good, because my friends tell me that soon gasoline and electricity may be tough to come by.

Multi-Task Force Bike Rack Superior.

Holy smokes, those bikes look like they’re on “Dancing With the Stars”! Ha-ha. But they’re not – they’re actually racked on one of the coolest, most efficient bike rack/sports rack combos I have ever seen! The amazing Bicycle and Sports Rack from our pals at STACKS AND STACKS is a treasure for not only bike aficionados, but sports fans as well!

The Bicycle and Sports Rack is perfect for storing up to 4 bikes at a time, with a narrow design that makes storage a snap. If you’re garage is as cramped as mine, you’ll certainly dig that feature! But the neatest feature this rack features is completely unexpected – let’s take a closer look:

Awesome! It’s like a sports locker AND a bike rack, ALL IN ONE! That’s pretty cool. And for a parent of some serious little sports-crazy kids, keeping all their sports stuff all in one place makes me and my wife’s life a lot easier. Balls, skateboards, even my girlfriend’s ski poles will fit on that rack. That’s really cool. The folks who created the Bicycle and Sports Rack really know what they’re doing.

Sometimes stuff piles up, and if your sporting equipment is piling up, and you want to rack them all in one place, this is your ticket to bike and sports rack perfection. The Bicycle and Sports Rack is a terrifically cool way to stay organized! Take it from me, this is a great way to keep your garage and bikes and gear clutter-free! (It also makes a unexpected and thoughtful gift, as the holidays are close. Trust me, they’ll love it!).

Face the Facts: You’re Faced with a Choice about Floating.

Hi friends.  Still here.  Yes, I got all of your e-mail.  No, I still can’t talk about what happened to me.  My lawyer says I have to wait.  SORRY!  Ha-ha.  Don’t worry, though, it’s worth the wait!  Ain’t that the way life always goes?  You’re not kidding.  And then you die!  Ha-ha.  But hopefully not before you learn about what happened to me.  And speaking of hellish nightmares, is there anything worse than eating it?  You know, really eating it, like bad, like wrecking your face?  How about eating it and wrecking your face and having some dude standing there with a CAMERA?!  Oh snap!  Looks like this poor fella ordered a wrecked face for lunch.  Instant delivery!  Is he on Facebook?  Because he just booked it into his face.  And thanks to the internet, we get to re-live it forever:

Maybe he should have stayed indoors and used this instead:

There’s a lot to be said for floating.  If the face-wreck gentleman had the ability to float, he wouldn’t have eaten it!  Ha-ha,  I know!  Okay, but you’re saying, “how can I float a bike?  I don’t have an alien in a basket attached to the front.”  Guess what?  Nobody does.  But they do have access to the internet, and they can shop at Stacks and Stacks.  And there they can find the “Bike Lift - Floating Bike Rack“.  And with it, you can float your bike. You can lift your bike up, up and away using the Bike Lift. This system is light-weight and easy to use. Just use the adjustable gripping hooks to grab your bike and pull up to 50 lbs up and out of the way. The rope locking mechanism ensures that what goes up does not come down until you want it to. This system can be used on ceilings up to 14 feet. Take bike racks to the next level with the Bike Lift. Because eating it on the street is kind of a bummer.  Okay!

Shasta McNAFTA. How the NAFTA Freeway should really think about adding a Bike Lane.

I’m like you. I think the NAFTA freeway is a bummer. Because all these things are weird about it. First, it goes all the way through the county, without stopping, from Mexico to Canada, so now illegal people will be able to just drive into our country, and terrorists too, they can just drive in. Scary. And second, it will divide the country in half, and we will no longer be able to travel from the West USA to the East USA, or send mail, or call on the phone. Once the NAFTA freeway is built, you better like the side you live on. And third, it’s not going to be built from normal asphalt — they’re going to use mountains from national parks, and break them down, and use them. Starting with Mount Rushmore. Man, the world sure is changing fast. I just hope that when the make the freeway, they add a bike path, a bike lane, to it. So the foreign people have the option of being fit and healthy and going for a nice bike ride. Because oh yeah, did I mention? No Americans will be able to go on the NAFTA Freeway. Only non-Americans. Kind of a Bummer. Oh, well. Times change. But value never changes. You know what else I found out about (besides that Obama isn’t really an American)? This awesome Free Standing Bike Rack from Stacks and Stacks.

It’s probably the opposite of the NAFTA freeway. It’s cool, and it’s strong, and it’s black powder coated, and it could easily be called a steel framed free standing bike rack, one that gives you a storage option for your bikes that does not take up a huge footprint in your garage. Because footprints leave a trail. And that’s not cool, or organized, or anything you want in a bike rack. Since this unit is free standing it gives you the option of placing the rack anywhere! Anywhere! You decide, not like the NAFTA freeway, because we didn’t get to decide on that. They just started building it without telling us. But it’s okay, because this bike rack looks stylish and is able to handle up to 200 lbs worth of bikes. No wall required! Use it inside or outside, this rack can handle any bike holding job! So there you go. It’s a crazy world, but at least we can always count on Bike Racks to keep our bikes safe and secure, you know? Because it’s not like Chuck Norris is running for President or anything.

Oh wait, Chuck Norris IS running for President. Of Texas. Wow. Well, good luck!

Tired of the Same Old Tires? Then try Looking at these Big Crazy Tires!

Filed under: Safe And Secure, The Cutting Edge — Tags: — Larry @ 2:19 pm

Ha-ha! look at those tires! they are really huge! Ha-ha! A scientist in Harvard made these for a vacation he took to the beach in California. I think he overdid it! Ha-ha! The guy built these from tires that weren’t even supposed to BE for bikes, and he made it work. And now, with his crazy Big Wheels of Tires, he can bike in place that I’ve never been able to bike before: on top of the sand, and on the ocean. That’s wild. Wild! I guess the sight of a guy riding a bike out on the sand was crazy, and all the beach people were all like “WHAT?!” and he was all “look at my big tires!” and then he drove past the sand, into the ocean, and he was all “I can drive my bicycle over water itself!” and everyone was shock and the coast guards though he was a terrorist and shot him dead. That’s the sad reason that you won’t be buying his invention anytime soon: it’s Exhibit C in a pending wrongful death trial. It’s safe to say, his invention died with him. What didn’t die, though, is value at Stacks and Stacks. It’s here to stay.

Look at this awesome Bike Rack For 6 Bikes with Top Rack-Carbon Steel I found! Dude, for real. This easy to use bike rack stores up to 6 bikes upright! Not 5, 6!! It’s got a sleek euro styled powder coated steel frame that cradles front wheels securely and conveniently, and a heavy duty carbon steel frame that uses plastic inserts at all connections to eliminate metal to metal contact that can lead to rust and corrosion and all those darn hardware and assembly tools are included and that means you can use it also as an accessory storage rack that holds helmets, book bags and more! Pretty cool. And while it’s innovative, I think it’s also safe to say the inventor of this beauty is not wrongfully dead. No, he’s totally rich!

Skuut the Heck Up, Fear! Kids, Cast Out Fear with the Skuut Bike!

Filed under: Kids Bike Racks, Safe And Secure, Wild N Wacky — Tags: — Larry @ 11:52 am

Remember way back when, when you first learned to ride a bike? I know, it was totally a loooooong time ago. But think back to when you took your first bike ride. Scary, terrifying, heart-stopping. Blind fear. Horror. The horror. Gravity. Pavement. Pain. Busted bike, terrifying memories, awful nightmares. Thanks to my militant father who laughed at my tears and fed me shame, I got right back up on that bike and rode it. Right down the street, right over the curb, right down the hill, right into the parking lot, right into the moving station wagon. Right into the darkness of concussion. Right into the hospital. But it was all okay, because I gained a lifetime of respect for bikes and bike riding and bikes and bike racks. So thanks, dad. But you know what would have helped waaaaaaaay back when, helped me to avoid the cruel, excruciating agony of that first day riding a bike? This Skuut Wooden Balance Bike from the gang over at Stacks and Stacks.

Cool! Supercool! Your kids can take the fear out of riding a bike with the Skuut! The Skuut is a wooden bike meant for kids ages two to five. It has no pedals, no at all, and no training wheels. None! The Skuut teaches children the principles of balance, steering, coordination and - most importantly - confidence with a bike. Confidence! Now check out this coolness! Kids sit on the Skuut, and kick off the ground, as if running, thus pushing or ’skuut-ing’ themselves and the bike forward. Scooooot! Skuut! After some time mastering balance on the Skuut, the transition to a traditional two-wheel bike is a snap! Boy, I wish my old man knew that! Oh well. Ha-ha! Choose from just the Skuut, or the Skuut with a matching bike rack! Because this blog isn’t just supposed to be all about my hellish childhood, but about bike racks. Bike Racks Blog!! Remember, your kids will think it’s a hoot to Skuut! Good luck!

Lock Up! Don’t let Criminal Scum steal what’s yours!

Filed under: Free Standing Bike racks, Safe And Secure — Tags: , — Larry @ 5:29 pm

Let’s face it, criminals are scum, and crooks are bastards. They take what is not theirs and they give nothing back to the community. They have no class, no common sense, and no soul. Bicycle thieves are the worst of the worst, because if they steal your bike, your walking home. Thanks, crook. But thank heavens there are ways to stop these scumbags in their tracks, short of what we SHOULD do to them, which would be remove their hands like in the bible, because it’s not so easy to cut through my bike lock with no hands now, is it punk? The ways we can protect ourselves from these monsters are many, and most of them involve bike racks, believe it or not! The National Crime Prevention Council has a rad list of suggestion on how to keep what is yours yours, and not let those scum crooks make off with your bike. If I were you I get someone to help me print that page out, and either take it with you to remember, or memorize it. it could really save your bike! And so can this Gravity Bike Rack from Stacks and Stacks!

No bolts, No screws, No installation! You have to see it to believe it. Just rest this well-built bike rack against any wall in your garage, mudroom, or basement. This rack is 26″ wide at the base, and extends outwards 19″ from the wall, and uses a beefy, semi-circular base at a 45 degrees angle for stability! Hang two bikes from their top tubes, and you’ve solved a big storage problem in close-to-the-wall space you’ll never miss! Made from a durable baked enamel metal with padded feet and wall brace, this thing is tough! Independently adjustable arms keep both bikes completely level regardless of frame design, so it’s all good when you rack them! If only I could carry this bike rack out with me wherever I went, I sleep well knowing my bike would never get stolen! Well folks, be safe out there. It’s a dangerous place and you might get killed. Good luck!

In a Pinch? Pinch Back with this Surprisingly Simple Bike Rack!

Filed under: Safe And Secure, Wall Mount Bike racks — Tags: , — Larry @ 6:50 pm

These days, in this period of tough economic times, it seems like time is just flying away! It seems like a minute no longer has 60 seconds anymore! It’s all just going so fast, I would totally understand if you were having trouble finding the time to find a really nice, fancy bike rack. I would. And don’t worry, I understand. Sometimes you just need to get that bike racked as fast as possible, and not worry about glitter and nonsense. Sometimes I get carried away with all my excitement for the coolest and newest designs of bike racks, but sometimes these racks are expensive and require a lot of research to make sure you get the right one. It’s okay. I found a great rack for you, that’s prefect and simple and easy and fast!

This is the really cool Bicycle Hook ProStor PIW-1 with an Iron Wedge. Look at that: no fuss, no problems! Ha-ha. Not that bike racks are ever a problem! You store your bikes on the wall or ceiling of your garage with the Iron Wedge bike hanger part — and they hang like vampires from the ceiling, or the just stick to the wall if that’s where you put it! It’s got a cool cushioned sleeve to protect your bike’s wheel, and it’s made from heavy-duty, REALLY-heavy-duty epoxy-coated, laser-cut 12-gauge steel. Dude, right? That’s tough stuff. And if you’re really crazy about security (and who isn’t in these tough economic times), the Hook features a “V” cutout to accommodate a cable lock! Awesome. This is a bicycle rack that is simple, and cool, and great! Check it out, friends!  Good luck!

Only Smart People Ride Bicycles.

Filed under: Free Standing Bike racks, Safe And Secure — Tags: , — Larry @ 6:43 pm

I need to get personal for a moment. I don’t often write about matters of the heart here on Bike Racks Blog, but as it is a blog all about bike racks, and this story has to do with bike racks, then I feel it’s okay to tell it. Sometimes (more times than you would think), people, mean people, will come up to me, or write to me, or call me in the middle of the night, and tell me this blog is a useless gesture, that no one cares about bikes and bicycle riding, and certainly not about bike racks, and that smart people have moved on. That there’s this new thing called an automobile, an invention so cutting edge that you don’t need your feet to pedal it. That they took that automobile and wedged onto a bicycle and are calling it a motorcycle. That 1846 wants to know why modern humans haven’t evolved past two wheels, a seat, a chain, a sloped, paved hill, and hope. To all of them, I say down with you and your negativity. You know who likes bicycles? Smart people.

Albert Einstein rode a bicycle. He loved bicycles. And his best ideas came to him while he was riding. In fact the large book I read on him said that ALL of his ideas came to him while riding a bike. And you can bet he had ideas for bike racks! He was the smartest man ever — he probably could have designed the best bike rack of all if he wasn’t busy with his math and science and mad wizardry. And I can tell you with all certainty that if Albert Einstein was alive today, he would own this awesome Garage Bike Rack from Stacks And Stacks.

He would be able to park his bicycle in the garage, without the worry of mounting or lifting! He would know that this free-standing floor bike rack is the best, that it firmly holds one or two bikes, and fits easily into slim spaces, like between car and garage wall (even though he wouldn’t OWN a car, because he wouldn’t need one because all he would need is a bicycle). Einstein would also know that this indoor bike rack would hold any size wheel securely, without using a bike’s kickstand, keeping his bikes as safe as the science secrets he told the government. He would enjoy the rubberized feet, that would protect his laboratory floor against scratches from the rack’s steel frame, because smart people take precautions. And you know what? Smart people also write blogs. Blogs about bike racks. So for all the “haters” out there that potty-mouth trash-talk this blog, just “chill”. Maybe you should stop making fun of me and invest in a bicycle and improve your I.Q. and then pick up a Garage Bike Rack to go with it. Sticks And Stones may break my bones, but Stacks And Stacks sells Bike Racks. I suggest you lay off teasing me, and buy one. Good Luck!

Circles & Triangles: The Crazy Geometry of a Really Cool Bike Rack.

Filed under: Safe And Secure, Wall Mount Bike racks — Larry @ 6:37 pm

Boy, keeping Bicycles out of the way and safe sure is a tough thing to do sometimes. But I love it! Ha-ha. Really, though, when I need to rack a whole bunch of Bicycles together at the same time, in the same place, there really is only two options: rack them on an old fashioned, ground-secured bike rack, or go for it and hang them all from a hanging bike rack not unlike this cool bike rack that I found on Stacks and Stacks the website! It’s called the Bicycle Hanger, and it works wonders when you really need to Rack up to four bikes in a hurry, while keeping your garage all clean and organized — the way it should be!

Certainly tough, certainly durable, and certainly boasting an industrial-ish in it’s look, the Bicycle Hanger may not be as flashy as the cool kind of hanging Bike Rack that has wires and pulleys and makes your bike levitate like Peter Pan. But hey, we didn’t all get Ninendos for Christmas, you know? Sometimes you don’t need all that flash and pizazz, sometimes you just need the essentials, and that’s what the Bicycle Hanger offers. And boy does it offer it! It can hold up to 200 pounds! No kidding! And up to four bikes! Amazing.  And up to 200 pounds, so less bikes, if they weigh more. Or one 200 pound bike.  So if you’re looking for a great way to keep those bikes racked, and don’t want the whole production of a hanging bicycle factory, then the Bicycle hanger is your best bet! Go for it!
