Hey, Larry,
Great post about the Aluminum Overhead Garage Rack and Hoist. Living in an apartment with a one-car (barely) garage, this rack would be perfect for getting my bike offthe floor, and out of the way of my Honda CRV! I back my CRV in, to make it easy to get out in the morning, and have had many near misses with my bike. There would be no worries with this rack. By the way, you may also be interested in my website, www.beyoung bikeracksplus.com. I offer over 50 receiver hitch and trunk mounted bike racks, built by Yakima, Thule, Softride and Saris. A very versatile one is the Saris 812 T-Bones 2 bike rack. It adapts to both 1 1/4 and 2-inch receivers, and comes in both 2 and 3 bike versions. The really neat thing about it, is that it comes with its own floor atand, so that when the rack is not on your vehicle, you can simply transfer it to the floor atand and hang your bikes on it until the next time your plan to ride. It keeps your bikes off the floor, although obviously not as high as the Aluminum Overhead Garage Rack and Hoist.

Hey, Larry,
You are certainly right about how this hanging garage rack saves space. I live in an apartment, and have a one-car garage that just has room for my Honda CRV, so this rack is perfect for getting my bike off the floor and out of range of being hit by the CRV! I am excited to see this great blog about bike racks. I have recently opened my own website, offering bike racks by Yakima, Thule, Softride and Saris. I have tried to make it a site for the family rider, sort of the "Mom and Pop Store" of bike racks, rather than a huge crowded site that is intimidating to navigate. I guess the most unique part of it is that I did not create the site until I turned 65 years old. As I am sure you will agree, it's never too late to hop on and ride again! Thanks again for this great blog. You have inspired me !
